good morning koalas and Welcome to our second morning assembly of the school year my name is Zoe Duran please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance please. put your right hand over your heart ready begin I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all thank you you maybe join our PTA today GTA is a great way to support your child education and stay informed anyone can join parent student teachers families friends and community members check out the sea apta.org website for special member discounts Delavan school spirit our sphere of our spirit wear flash sale starts today log on to Spirit hero.com and entered Delevan Drive Elementary in the school box. Check out some of our new colors and styles don't miss her flash till saving the sale and September 12th all orders placed Michelle will be printed once the cell end and items will be shipped and distributed at school welcome back to Delavan family Barcade party prester and Gator game koalas join us this Sunday September 4th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. or our welcome back to Delavan family birthday party at arcade in Highland Park hang out with your friends and play overseas classic arcade and pinball games at our private gaming party all proceeds help Delavan send sixth graders to the LA County LA County outdoor Science school this February don't miss very special Delavan event if you don't want the fun to end you can even stay and play at arcade family date until 5 p.m. can't wait to see all our family called This is a parent supervised Cash Only Imagine all children must be accompanied by an adult qualifying kick-off calling all Delavan super koalas it is time to unite to raise money for our school our biggest raising event of the Year koalas on start September 9th we have a lot of fun incentives and a store for our super koala Heroes this year set up your fundraising page I get moving fundhub. before September 9th and get entered in a drawing for some great Delevan slag Delavan school spirit let's show our school spirit koalas every Friday come to school wearing Delavan where you own it could be an old Triathlon a r or even a student council shirt basically any item with koala or Delavan on it back to Delavan dress back to school night is this Thursday September 1st it will be live and in-person come meet your child's teacher understand the curriculum and getting inside to support your child's academic and access the first session will be from 5 to 5:30 and the second session will be from 5:40 to 6:10 our teachers are excited to meet you in person koala Bob sticker today Austin to a reusable water to school will receive a limited-edition koala Bob sticker celebrating the new school year are sixth graders will be going around classrooms throughout the day the hand the match so we make sure to show them your bottle once they get there we will be handing out new and different koala Bob stickers again in a few weeks to add to your collection so make sure to bring unuser reusable bottle every day the August student of the month Ivy character traits Spotlight is caring we show empathy and compassion and respect we have a commitment to service and we act to make a positive difference in the lives others and in the world around us are August Ivy character of the week for sharing is if you want to lift yourself up lift someone else up by Booker T Washington for the students of the week for August 22nd through August 26th in this is Rivera's utk class the student of the week is Amara keep up the good work tomorrow the student of the week and mrs. Pratt thank you Joey you did a wonderful job and good morning koalas happy Monday to all of you I want to take a moment to First say congratulations to all of our students of the week we are so proud of all of you and looking forward to our future students of the week remember in order to be student of the we must be safe respectful and responsible you know what I saw several posters coming onto the campus this morning that means we're heading into a special week we have student body at directions coming up soon and I want to wish all of our candidates well I know we're going to have a powerful student body this year and I'm looking forward to working with you so again wishing you well as we head into election day I want to take a moment to just talk about safety you know it's important that we practice a safety at all times when we're going into the restroom let's make sure that before we come out we wash our hands carefully how long should we wash our hands well you know what A good rule is to you know sing to yourself in your mind happy birthday and as long as it takes to sing Happy Birthday that's how long you should wash your hair we know that they will be germ-free we know that as we are in you know still going through following us some cold it protocols and making sure that we're safe are we have hand sanitizer it all over the campus and in our classroom we want to use that frequently and we know that mask mask wearing is not we don't have to wear masks but it is strongly recommended that we wear masks doors do inside of our classrooms inside of rooms on the campus to stay safe but it is not mandatory we just strongly suggest and we respect everyone's decision this week we have a short week we have a short week next week this week of Friday were off it's a holiday it's the day that we celebrate California of being admitted into the Union California was the thirty first state admitted to the union September 9th 1852 on Friday we have a day off in celebration of California becoming one of the states within the United States of America and then on Monday we celebrate all of the workers in the United States for Labor Day so we want you to have a wonderful week and then a bad stick or Day weekend earlier in the presentation we talked about Thursday been back to school night so we want to see all of our parents here back to school night starts at 5 p.m. it is also a minimum day so we get out 12:59 on Thursday it's a minimum day. those are all of my announcements for this morning I want you to have a marvelous Monday and a fantastic week see you next time koalas I'll see you on the playground and in your classroom
