free good morning koala and Welcome to our morning assembly my name is Zoe. student council president please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance put your right hand over your heart ready again I pledge allegiance do the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all you may be seated join our PTA today GTA is a great way to support your child education and stay informed anyone can join parents students teachers families friends and community members so far we have 165 members and Counting help us meet our goal 500 members by winter break check out the capta. website for special member discounts Delavan school spirit our spirit wear flash sale is going on now through September 25th at midnight check out our new car all orders will be printed after the sale is complete and will ship to the school to be distributed visit spear hero common enter Delevan Drive Elementary in the school box to take advantage flash sale deals PTA Reflections art program each year over 300,000 students in pre-k through 12th grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student selected thing or are reflections art program this 50 plus year old program helps students explore their own thoughts feelings and ideas develop artistic literacy increase confidence and find a love of learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life this year's theme is show your voice students can enter in war in one category including dance choreography music composition literature photography Film Production and visual arts submissions are due October 14th at pta.org Reflections stay tuned we will have a kickoff meeting soon if you need more information koalas on kickoff super quality night koala fun razor of the year is underway we have a set of huge goal of raising $65,000 this money will help fund all of our pta-sponsored school programs and initiatives this year Accelerated Reader tumblebooklibrary ST Math and Rich La Garden our new PE teacher and steam enrichment program just to name a few errands create your fundraising page and start showering with family and friends school-wide incentives we have a lot of fun centers like no homework pass has new Delavan super cool magnet Delavan socks and water bottles are first big school like super koala mission is to raise $20,000 and have a school-wide dress like a superhero day also we reach our goal at least one $10 down there from all the 50 states we will have a school-wide popsicle party we got so close last year start asking your Alaskan Hawaiian and free from The Dakotas now Delavan school spirit lets your school spirit koalas every Friday come to school wearing any Delavan where you own it could be no. it's on qualifying a r or even a student council t-shirt basically any item with a koala or Delavan on it Market fundraiser GTA and sixth grade fundraising committee would like to thank all the volunteers and koala families who came out to Barcade to support our 6th grade fundraiser it was so nice to see many of our koala families back together again anyone else got a high score Wacky Wednesday this Wacky Wednesday September 14th is half day come to school wearing any hat that you own and have her student council historians take a picture of you and your hat it could be a cap a floppy hat Beach hats bowler hats bucket hats and even more you can even get creative and decorate or make your own hat next week's Wacky Wednesday next week's Wacky Wednesday September 21st is International Peace Day in celebration of International Peace Day come to school or any peace sign items it could be up to design t-shirt sweaters shoes and more creative and you can even customize your own t-shirt and drop peace signs on them the August 10th of the month IB character traits male is carrying we show empathy compassion and respect we have a commitment to service and we act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and to the world around us H Auto IB character quote of the month for carrying is too often we underestimate the power of a touch a smile a kind word a listening ear and honest compliment or the smallest Act of caring all which we have potential to turn a life around by Lil Boosie cochlea now for the islands of the month for August 22nd through August 26th and mrs. Hanson 2nd grade class the student of the month is Jonathan marvelous job Jonathan the student of the month in this Blake's third grade class is Stella we appreciate you Stella in Miss Hester's third grade class the student of the month is Thomas great job Thomas the student of the month in mrs. Weddington 3rd grade class is Scarlet you're awesome Scarlet the student of the month in mr. cardoza's 4th grade class is Khalil keep up the amazing work Kahlil in 4th grade Miss kazarian's class the student of the month is Charlie Charlie Amy Sanchez 5th grade class the student of the month is Madison We Appreciate You Madison the student of the month and mrs. Lynn's fifth grade class is Diego keep up the great work Diego or 5th grade Mrs acosta's class the student of the month is Aaron really and job Aaron student of the month and mr. Chang 6th grade class is Nisha thumbs up to you necia and this is yeast extract class the student of the month is Carmen I knew you can do it Carmen English Madonna's class the student of the month is citlali keep up the great work Sal Ali who's the all the students of the month you are all amazing koalas and now for the 2022 to 2023 student council officers the two 22 to 2023 historians are Valerie Cadet Asian gamma gay and Sophia Hernandez congratulations to all of our history the 2022 to 2023 secretary is somebody Barnes congratulations samadhi 2022 to 2023 vice president is a sandwich congratulations acen and I Zoe Duran and your student council president directions to our 2022 to 2023 student council officers thank you all for listening have a great week koalas now here's a few words from our present dr. Pratt thank you Joey and happy Monday to all of our koalas what a wonderful week we are going to have this week starts our 5th week of school add 2020 to 2023 is well underway with a tremendous amount of instruction occurring learning and teaching and learning a curry I want to first of all say congratulations to all of our August a student of the month last week we had a little techno technological difficulty district-wide we're still experiencing technical difficulties but I'm glad we're able to get our I have our morning assembly and to be up and slowly running I'm technologically at our school and at the district so we want to congratulate all of our August students of the month and we know that all of you are working to be selected as to Timbers a student of the month I also would like to say congratulations again to all of our student council members for the 22 23 school year I look forward to working with all of you this year so that we can take Delevan Drive Elementary to a a higher level of all of our koalas we want to remember our three big rules of being safe being respectful and being responsible every minute of every day I we are respectful to our classmates and to our teachers and to all of the adults everyday we're responsible we do our homework every day we come to school on time we are responsible by playing in our play areas following directions doing what we're supposed to do and we're safe by making sure that we respect one another we respect each other's space we respect each other's property we're safe by keeping our hands to ourselves and we're also safe I'm making sure that we're practicing good health practices we have a tremendous amount of protective equipment at school we have mass and mass are strongly suggested that we wear them indoors while in our classroom except when we're eating breakfast in the classroom that we use hand sanitizer throughout the day and when we were in the restroom that before we come out we make sure that we wash our hands and we wash them long enough that considered a healthy practice it's suggested that we wash our hands for 20 seconds how long is 20 seconds what was about as long as it takes us to sing Happy Birthday so if we're in the restroom and we're washing our hands to yourself have to sing Happy Birthday out loud but in our minds to Versailles quietly sing Happy Birthday to yourself while you're washing your hands and when you're done singing happy birthday that's about as long as it takes to wash her hands in a safe Manner and then we're ready to come out go to our area code or back to our classroom and some instruction so let's remember to be safe respectful and responsible now this week starts Hispanic Heritage Month and it goes into the beginning of October Hispanic Heritage Month is that time when we show up radiation and awareness for the richness added to our society through the contributions of the Hispanic culture so let's remember to show our appreciation and awareness for Hispanic Heritage Month have a marvelous Monday koalas thank you for your attention and I'll turn it back over to Zoe are koalas have a thank you for listening
